A roaring, sell-out success, Scratch Sundays burst onto the London scene with vigour, 5 hot new pieces and 1 hot new compere.
GENNY SWALLOWMC/Compere
Genny was delighted to be asked to compere this "Scratch" night. She is so dedicated to the concept of experimental work that she's ensured she's had absolutely no previous experience of compering an event before. She has written and performed her own work in Scratch Nights at The Arcola Theatre and Theatre 503. She is proud to have been involved in numerous world premieres and final performances. Sometimes even on the same night.

THE EVENT
Performed by - David Calvitto
Written by - John Clancy
The Event begins as a comic deconstruction of the one-man show and evolves into an elemental confrontation and attempt at a communion with all of those gathered in the room. The actor has nothing but the words he has memorized and armed only with these, he must struggle to say something else.
John Clancy is an OBIE and Herald Angel award winning director. As writer, his plays have won The American Shorts Contest and The San Francisco Playwrights Center Dramarama, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe First and have been short-listed for the Julie Harris Playwrighting Award and the Actors Theatre of Louisville Heideman Award.
David Calvitto – Edinburgh: Midnight Cowboy, Screwmachine/eyecandy, The Exonerated, 12 Angry Men. New York and Edinburgh: Fatboy, Horse Country (The Stage Best Actor award), Goner, Americana Absurdum. London: Americana Absurdum (Menier Chocolate Factory), Horse Country (Riverside Studios), and some other stuff.
The Event will be produced in Edinburgh this summer.
SINISTER

The thought processes of a young girl – the fiction conjured from warped minds. What happens when we have only ourselves to talk to? Metal Mouth Theatre productions are a theatre company dedicated to creating original new writing. The company formed in the may of 2007 by three actors wanting to produce their own plays. Taio Rene-Lawson, Joel MacCormack and Alex Critoph were interested in the areas of new writing, classical storytelling, comic theatre, physical theatre, political writing and linguistic experimentation. In September of 2007 Metal Mouth showed their first three plays to a public audience under the name Metal Mouth Selection and from this the company gained the foundation for their wide and interesting expansion. Many promising doors were opened and from the selection night alone the future looks bright for Metal Mouth; the cast and creatives of The Adventures of Mushroom Face and Football Head by Sullivan Brown and Taio Rene-Lawson have teamed up with an independent film company to make a screen adaptation of the stage play which began in January 2008; Joel MacCormack’s Living on the page is being reworked for a tour of London schools with an accompanying workshop and Joel is also writing a new full length piece Sexy buffting that will be premiered at the Cockpit Theatre in April 2008.

TOM ADAMS
I am a comedian who writes comedy songs and wants to get better and better at it. I like to talk on stage, like a regular stand up comedian, but I also want to have music as well. So, why not write songs that I can talk over, that tell a story, and have a catchy little chorus. I want to become a regular on the comedy circuit, but not play clubs where it's all crude, racist humour. I want to perform at The Edinburgh Festival this year and am making inroads to perform with the Free Fringe.
I am an actor who trained at Circus School. Clowning and Physical Comedy are my strengths.

ED HULME
Stand Up
I’m the cast and its all from my brain, my thanks shall be decided depending on whether or not anyone laughs (if they do I would like to thank John Abbott) edwardhulme@hotmail.co.uk is my contact e-mail. I don’t have a web site. I would like to make lots of money and have an everlasting fame that would see me weekly in the pages of Heat and maybe an interview and photo on page 3 of the Sun.
The future…….. I would like to buy the Daily Mail and make the first disabled, black, Polish woman I meet the editor. However my humble northern upbringing reminds me to not aim so high, as disappointment is assured as much as death itself.
STORM-STAYED (a proto-hearsed collage of words)
Performed by – Ben Smith and Romilly Turner
Written and Directed by – James Campbell
The Isle of Mull is off the West coast of Scotland. There is no bridge to it. Or from it. You have to get the ferry. In Spring it rains constantly. In the Summer it rains constantly. In the Autumn it rains constantly. In the winter time, the stretch of water between Mull and the mainland can get a little choppy. Sometimes, when it snows, you can get snowed in for days. The ferries don't run. You can't get out of your house. Even if you could you wouldn't be able to go anywhere. You can't get off the island. You are Storm-Stayed. It can be fun. If you're storm-stayed with someone you love. Maybe your family. Maybe some friends. Being Storm-Stayed can be fun. But. If you're with your ex-husband it's a fucking nightmare. If you're stuck on an island with your ex-wife... It might make you want to kill.
